Outline of Mountains

I had the distinct privilege of meeting and working alongside Kyle and Travis in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The devastation that Helene wrought on Western North Carolina was immense, but the strength, grit, and determination that Kyle and Travis displayed in the face of this destruction were even more remarkable. Their unwavering commitment to serving the people of this region in their greatest time of need was nothing short of heroic. In the face of heartache and overwhelming challenges, these two became a steady "Island in the Storm" for the community. Despite personal struggles and exhaustion, they gave everything—both their time and resources—to ensure that no one was left behind. They worked tirelessly, often at their own expense, to mobilize any available resources, sparking change and offering a glimmer of hope to those suffering. Their dedication to rebuilding, not just homes, but lives, has been truly inspiring. While the media attention around Hurricane Helene may have faded, the reality for many residents in Western North Carolina remains one of struggle and need. In a time when the people of this region should feel supported and secure, many still face the daily burden of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. That is where Kyle and Travis have continued to stand tall. Through their non-profit 501(c)(3), they have relentlessly pushed forward, securing vital resources to fund restoration projects and meet the basic needs of countless families still in crisis.

Having had the honor to work with them directly, I can speak to the extraordinary character and perseverance they exhibit. Relief work tests the very core of who we are, and in my experience, they showed resilience and compassion that left a lasting impact. Their tireless efforts to lift others, even in the face of personal hardship, speak volumes about their integrity and heart. I strongly urge you to consider supporting their cause, as it will directly aid those who still face the aftermath of a disaster that is far from over for so many. I cannot say enough about their work, and I am forever grateful for the bonds we formed in the midst of such devastation.
